FASST (Hispanic Services Council) PDF Print E-mail

HSC provides services and programs that promote the support necessary to help families develop the skills needed to grow in economic security and to confront and overcome barriers that systematically prevent them form gaining access to economic, educational, and social resources.

The mission:
Hispanic Services Council assists Hispanic families and individuals in their successful integration into the community through bilingual and bicultural support services, education and advocacy.

The vision: Our vision is to create a commuity that values, promotes and supports cross cultural understanding and equity for limited-English speaking Hispanic families and individuals.

Family School Support Teams (Promotoras)FASST:  Through the RAICES project, a field initiated grant study by the University of South Florida’s Florida Mental Health Institute, Hispanic Services Council joins Northside Mental Health Center, Mental Health Care and The Children’s Home as a FASST service provider. Serving children and families in South County and W. Tampa, HSC seeks to improve access to services for a Latino population that is often devoid of information and resources. Through its partnership with Cypress Creek, Wimauma, Ruskin, Gibsonton and W. Tampa Elementary schools, Hispanic Services Council aims to provide school and in-home services for children and their families. The RAICES project targets at-risk limited English speaking and Spanish monolingual Latino children or those with serious emotional disturbance enrolled in grades K-5, and their families.  The FASST program seeks to strengthen the functioning of children and families by identifying strengths, family needs and community resources.
