Easter Seals Homebased Early Intervention Program works with children birth through 36 months who have developmental delays and disabilities.
Easter Seals Homebased Early Intervention Program serves children from birth through 36 months who have significant disabilities such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, communication disorders or other developmental delays. The goal of the program is to work with the child and family to enhance and improve the child’s development. This program helps children with special needs achieve their goals in cognitive, social/emotional, communicative, adaptive and physical development through developmental play and therapeutic activities.
Services include developmental evaluations, correlation with speech, physical and occupational therapies, homebased early intervention sessions, parent support services and transitional support into the school system.
Early Intervention is provided by qualified educators and registered nurses who are experienced in working with young children with special needs. The interventionist works with the family on developmental, therapeutic, and medical interventions that facilitate each child’s unique development. The interventionist visits the child/family on a weekly basis and provides a play prescription for each family that helps the family incorporate interventions into the child’s normal activities of daily living. She teaches the family how to play with their special child and teaches them how to advocate for their child within the system of care. This Program serves over 200 clients per week in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk Counties. Web Address: http://fl.easterseals.com
